Pride Month - Celebrate diversity

Pride Month - Celebrate diversity

Celebrated every year in June, Pride Month is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community, acknowledge its history and celebrate the achievements it has made. But what exactly is behind this special month, and Why is it so important?

The history of Pride Month

Pride Month has its roots in the so-called Stonewall riots of 1969when members of the LGBTQ+ community in New York City rebelled against police raids and discrimination. This historic moment marked the Beginning of the modern LGBTQ+ movement and led to the founding of many organizations that campaign for the rights and equality of LGBTQ+ people. Since then, Pride Month has been celebrated around the world with colorful and vibrant parades, events and activities designed to create visibility and support for the community. Always there: The rainbow flag as a symbol of the movement.

What does Pride Month stand for?

Pride Month stands for Pride, acceptance and the celebration of individual identity. It is a time when people come together to show solidarity and fight against discrimination. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of the community and draw attention to the challenges it still faces today. This month we remember that Love is love and that every person has the right to live their true identity. Pride Month encourages us all to open our hearts and minds and work towards a more inclusive and just world.

At SugarShape, we firmly believe in the importance of diversity and acceptance - for every person. From head to toe. From the inside out. Within our company values, we have integrated "Selflove & Diversity" as an integral part of our lives and actions. Everyone should have the right to be whoever and however they want and experience a community in which it is a matter of course to accept these decisions. As it is unfortunately still a long way from becoming a self-image and absolute tolerance, we see it as our responsibility to not only focus on diversity and self-love and offer a platform, but also to participate in Pride Month and to make this important topic even bigger!
